VACANCY – TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

REPORTING TO: CHIEF ENGINEER | LOCATION: HEIDELBERG (GAUTENG)

Starlite Maintenance Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd has a requirement for an attentive, self-disciplined, problem-solving individual to fill this position in Heidelberg within the Starlite Group.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: –

  • Research and advise on Parts, Tooling and Manpower requirements for Aircraft maintenance projects.
  • Complete, submit and follow up on Technical Enquiries (TE’s) to OEMs and suppliers.
  • Complete and submit PBH and SBH claims.
  • Keep register and track of requests and delivery times on PBH claims.
  • Provide technical research and support to AM, CE on demand.
  • Draft and assist with quotations and work scope on request from AM and CE.
  • Research, manufacture and source alternative solutions on parts and tooling.
  • Provide Technical support to Procurement Controller, Logistics, on demand.
  • Assist and provide solutions on Warranty claims.
  • Provide solutions and planning for set-up of new deployments.
  • Carry out planning, draft work scope and requirements including manpower, tooling, parts and material requirement for upgrades or changes in aircraft configurations.
  • Forecast annual parts requirements.
  • Manage and update technical subscriptions, including downloading and updating of Nav data and CVFDR downloads for various aircraft.

 

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in heavy maintenance, G-checks and refurbishment
  • Experience in Helicopter up-grades and configuration changes
  • High level of understanding of Aircraft MM, IPCs, SBs, Ads etc
  • High level of understanding and experience in Mechanical and Avionics systems

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Aircraft Mechanic / Avionic
  • Licenced Engineer (advantageous)
  • Extensive Knowledge on AS330/ AS332 Helicopter maintenance (knowledge on other types advantageous)
  • Minimum 10 years aircraft maintenance experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar role
