VACANCY – PROCUREMENT CONTROLLER
REPORTING TO: ACCOUNTABLE MANAGER LOCATION: HEIDELBERG (GAUTENG)
Starlite Maintenance Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd has a requirement for a strategic, tech-savvy, strong communicating individual to fill this position in Heidelberg within the Starlite Group.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: –
- Ensure cost effective and efficient procurement of aircraft spares, ground support equipment, tools and consumables
- Prepare procurement reports
- Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
- Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors, promoting long term savings and with the best lead time
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Keep the list of suppliers up to date and SACCA compliant
- Liaise with the following personnel for feedback on all orders and lead times: Chief Engineer, AMO Accountable Manager, shipping department, stores, stores personnel and lead engineers on contracts
- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
- Work closely with Stores on inventory levels and purchasing
- Co-ordinate with stores and finance on parts sales
- Co-ordinate with shipping and logistic on tracking of placed orders and core returns
- Follow up on deliveries and keep record of delivery dates and core unit return dates
- Manage the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods
- Raise Purchase orders, get them approved and send to suppliers
- Liaise with Suppliers and Accounts Department regarding Invoicing and Payments
- Take immediate action with Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requirements
- Compile, motivate and action the Weekly Approval List
- Comply with the company Quality Policy & Manual of Procedure (MOP)
- Carry out duties as appointed Safety Supervisor (OHS)

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- Diploma / Certificate in Warehouse Management (advantageous)
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration
- +- 10 years in an Aviation / Procurement Environment
- Good understanding of SACAA regulations
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of Aircraft technical manuals and procedures
- Excellent understanding of procurement and inventory systems
- Experience using supply chain management software and tools
- Aircraft trade (advantageous)
