Gareth holds the position of CEO for the Starlite Aviation Group of companies.

Gareth was born and raised in Durban, South Africa and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Information Technology degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. He went on to obtain his Honours in Financial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Finance at Rand Afrikaans University and completed his Board Qualifying Examinations at Deloitte, where he was an audit trainee for a further 3 years before being admitted as a SA registered Chartered Accountant.

Gareth soon ventured into directorship and commercial positions, focusing on strategic turnarounds and business optimisation in MicroMEGA Holdings Ltd, listed on the JSE exchange.

Before joining Starlite in 2017 as CFO, Gareth held the position of CFO and Commercial Director for several of the companies in the multi-national Dimension Data, now NTT International Group.

Gareth’s expertise in strategic decision making to drive business optimisation, financial and operational processes structures in multinationals together with his expertise in commercial and contract negotiations, deal structuring, financial processes and tax has been and continues to be a key requirement to the strategic growth of Starlite.

Gareth served as Starlite CFO until August 2021, before being appointed to CEO.
