The location of a flying school is of paramount importance. Good weather is necessary for flying training, and for this reason, Mossel Bay was chosen as the prime location for the Starlite International Aviation Training Academy. The area experiences mild climatic conditions and averages 320 days of sunshine per annum. The Academy, a considerable distance from congested airspace, offers favourable conditions in which to conduct pilot training. It is, however, close enough to George offering students exposure to flying within controlled airspace.
